“The ghost cat. Every once in a while, there’s a shadowy cat that shows up. Sometimes gray, sometimes black. I catch them darting around out of the corner of my eye. But we feel them more often than we see them. It curls up with my wife nearly every night; she can feel the weight on the bed, against her legs, and the vibration of the purr. I have felt it too, but definitely not as often as her. Our living cat occasionally plays with the ghost cat, jumping around and batting at ‘nothing’ until you hear a thud from it jumping (and not from our cat). It also likes to rock the TV on our dresser, like it’s walking behind it.”
“But the creepiest thing I’ve experienced is when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, turned to look, and no one was there. I thought it was my wife coming downstairs before I left for work. The family that lived in my house before us had two little girls who always played with ‘Grandpa’ in the house. Two weeks after I moved in (by myself at the time), I was on my computer, and felt a hand on my shoulder. Just him saying hi! He’s woken my wife up multiple times if she falls asleep on the couch (because it always hurts her back if she doesn’t go to bed!). He opens and closes doors. He threw an empty purse across the living room once, which was neat to see.
Every once in a while, there’s an overwhelming negative feeling in certain rooms of the house, either in the spare bedroom upstairs or the old coal room in the basement. Just like something evil is present and doesn’t want you to be there. But thankfully, that’s gotten rarer, especially after the ghost cat showed up!”
