9 Chef-Approved Ways To Eliminate Food Waste In Your Kitchen

As a chef, dietitian, and mom, food is a big part of my life, and when you test and create recipes for a living, you’re bound to have overflowing fridges and freezers at all times. With the cost of food rising and my own passion for being kind to our beautiful planet, I have a few tricks up my sleeves for reducing my food waste at home, and they are easier than you think!

Food waste is a big issue, and a whopping 40–50% of food waste happens right at home. Food waste contributes to climate changeand food production requires water, land, and energy. Wasting food means that we are also wasting resources. Not only is it terrible for the environment, but it also represents your hard-earned money going down the drain or into the landfill. With this in mind, I’m sharing my favorite ways to fight food waste from the comfort of my own kitchen.
