Couples With A 10-Year (Or More) Age Gap Are Revealing What It’s Really Like, And Wow

“My husband is 11 years older. We met when I was 27 and he was 38. For the longest time, I never even thought about the age difference, in large part because my husband legit looks about a decade younger than he actually is. People were constantly surprised to find out his age. He’s 53 now and has finally gotten some gray in his beard. We’re still in love and still best friends; it’s the best relationship I’ve ever been in. The biggest difference between us now is probably that he’s starting to consider his mortality more and more. It kind of weighs on him.”

“His parents are in their late 70s/early 80s, and he thinks a lot about their mortality too, and what it will be like when they’re gone. I’m not quite there yet. It’s interesting to see what might be in store for me in the future, when I reach his age and start pondering the same things. I also wonder (as morbid as it sounds) which of us will go first. We’re both in pretty good health, and his family tends to be long-lived, so I don’t anticipate losing him anytime soon, but I do wonder what it’ll be like if he passes first.”
