La La Anthony Allegedly Posted — Then Deleted — A Post About Andrew Cuomo After Backlash
La La Anthony is facing backlash after allegedly posting — then deleting — a message of support for Andrew Cuomo amid New York City’s mayoral election.
Yesterday, La La allegedly shared an Instagram post endorsing Cuomo while encouraging New Yorkers to get out and vote. “It’s Election Day here in New York City, pls get out & VOTE!” she said alongside a photo of herself and Cuomo. “I’ve known [Andrew] for years, he’s passionate on criminal justice reform, and I’ve seen firsthand the kind of leader he can be! We need him!”
The post quickly sparked backlash, with many people pointing out Cuomo’s problematic history — including sexual harassment claims from 13 women.
X quickly lit up with reactions. “Lala you fucking dweeb!” one person said on X, as another criticized her for supporting Cuomo despite the allegations.
“@lala is clowning,” someone agreed. “you are out of touch or scared to lose your bread and don’t care about others.”
“Everything can’t be about the coin,” another added. “At some point you have to care about the people that keep your dumb ass in demand.”
One more agreed that Lala’s post was “weird and embarrassing.”
People also brought up more of Cuomo’s broader controversies, with one user criticizing him for a recent “AI attack ad full of stereotypes including 1 black man stealing from a store & another pimping out a van full of white women. But sure Lala let’s say ‘he supports criminal justice reform’ to convince The Blacks to vote for Cuomo.”
Others also argued that there are more important issues. “Americans have bigger fish to fry we don’t give af about criminals,” one person tweeted.
At the same time, though, some people weren’t surprised. “Her bestie is Kim K… what did you expect? Lmao,” read one viral tweet.
La La didn’t appear to directly address the backlash, but as previously mentioned, she seemingly deleted the post, prompting even more criticism. “AN EVEN BIGGER BOZO MOVE, SHE DELETED THE STORY! NAH HOLD THAT L,” read one tweet with over 20,000 likes.
La La wasn’t the only celebrity who endorsed Cuomo before Zorani’s historic win. According to the New York Times, Amy Schumer, Marc Anthony, Elon Musk, and more public figures backed him, too.
BuzzFeed has contacted reps for La La for comment on the validity of the post and the backlash to it. In the meantime, let me know what you think of this below.
