“Projection. She started to be really aware of any time I was having a text conversation with someone she didn’t know, started asking me where I was going more often, things like that. Eventually turned into her accusing me of hiding parts of my life from her. It was very frustrating because I was hiding nothing and had not changed my behavior at all from the past 15 years. I never would have believed it if I hadn’t gone to a therapist who asked me if these things were happening before I even had a chance to point it out. I’d heard of projection before, but I didn’t know it was a normal thing that sane people do. My ex sucks, and she was in a bad place mentally, but she’s not an insane or crazy person.”
