The Entire Internet Just Learned What The Word "Enshittification" Means

The Merriam-Webster dictionary has had some very viral tweets lately.

They taught everyone the difference between “gray” and “grey.”

They went viral for boldly proclaiming “irregardless,” is, in fact, a word.

And they make me go “oh” when I learned that a group of jellyfish is called a “smack.”

Well, folks, we got a new one: “Enshittification.”

That definition has gone viral: “enshittification | noun | when a digital platform is made worse for users, in order to increase profits.”

Yeah, enshittification is everywhere!

One person called it “Twitters new name.”

Another person asked, “What do you call it when this happens to a country?”

And this person said “enshittification” should be applied to other things besides digital platforms.

Anyway, thanks for the new one, babes <3
