"The Pitt," "The Penguin," And Every Other Emmy-Winning Series On HBO Max You Should Watch

It’s clear HBO Max has hit the jackpot withThe Penguin, which secured nine wins and 24 nominations— a massive achievement for a first-season show. The series’s success at precursors like the Globes (where both Colin Farrell and Cristin Miloti won for their performances) gave some a hunch that it would fare just fine on Emmys evening. But wins like Miloti’s, who was up against Dying For Sex‘s Michelle Williams, were hardly in the bag. Despite its label as a “limited series,” the intricately designedshow could very well be returning for a Season 2, with sources revealing that the team is actively discussing the possibility.

What it won:Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Cristin Miloti), Contemporary Costumes for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Contemporary Hairstyling, Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic), Sound Editing for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special, Prosthetic Makeup, Sound Mixing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode, Music Composition for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special (Original Dramatic Score)

Watch it on HBO Max.
